CAREER TECHNICAL EDUCATION
Natural Resources

Natural Resource Systems
Our Natural Resource Management curriculum offers three areas of emphasis including Green Technologies, Sustainable Agriculture, and Watershed Restoration and Stewardship.

Watershed Restoration & Stewardship
Students earn science and elective credits as they learn ecosystem management in the classroom and out in the field.  Coursework includes watershed management, restoration science, forestry, and fire science.  Students participate in volunteer, cooperative work experience, and paid restoration activities as they progress through the curriculum to become project researchers, planners, and crew leaders.

Phoenix Youth Corps
Students who progress through the Natural Resource curriculum become eligible for our Youth Corps program.  The Phoenix Youth Corps seeks to connect at-risk youth with their local community, through a variety of service-learning, paid, and intern work experiences with natural resource partners like Roseburg BLM, Fish & Wildlife, and the North Umpqua Ranger District.  Projects include trail and campground work, fish habitat restoration, forest health, and animal relocation.
